We had a great time. This place is well maintained and very clean. The kitchen had everything you could possibly think of. The décor is very nice. Nice short walk to the beach. Had very nice bikes to ride around on and lots of beach supplies to use. If you had any questions about anything Chris was very prompt on answering. They also very accommodating to work around your schedule. The outside area has a very nice patio furniture to sit on and nice chairs in the front also. The only problem we had was when it was time to leave we didn't want to.

My husband and I were quite happy with our cottage...Roaeate Spoonbill.
It was perfectly roomy considering we have an 80 lb. Bulldog. It was also large enough to entertain guests.
The decor is well appointed and the wall and ceiling mural in the master is fantastic.
All linens were of good quality and the beds quite comfy. The cookware and dishes were nice as well. Beautiful turquoise Keuriq on the counter. The master bath is huge....the shower phenomenal.
Plus there was a doggie door and fenced in yard.
Plus....bikes and anything you could possibly need for the beach
We loved it there and have already booked for next year.
I love the east end of Sanibel and this cottage is very close to the beach. And i love the secluded tropical splendor! It is a true taste of the best Florida has to offer .

We had a wonderful stay in the Shell Seekers Cottage A, spending the month of February. Sanibel is such a great place to unwind, and the owners, Chris and Randy, had everything we could need in order to do that. The minute we walked in, we commented on how clean it was. The layout was great, too. We were excited to bring our dogs along on the trip and our elderly dog loved the fact that she could go out the back door without any steps. The Beckners thought of everything you could need for frequent trips to the beach. Everything from chairs to umbrellas (and thankfully those anchor stands!), toys for our daughter to use, even a wagon to cart it all. This unit is an easy walk to the beach which is great because the closest beach access is permit access-only. There were plenty of beach locations to visit that had pay-by-hour parking though, and some were in biking distance if you're adventurous. Speaking of bikes, they will also have you covered if you enjoy bike riding, including helmets and a trainer for your children. We spent more time biking to stores and restaurants than we did driving. The rest of the unite was appointed with plenty of sheets, towels, and kitchen supplies to make our stay comfortable. We probably cooked a bit more than we ate out and didn't lack anything needed. The king bed was really comfortable and made for a great night sleep after being in the fresh air of Sanibel all day! Two bedrooms and two full baths were great. The Shell Seeker Cottage is located at the end of a short gravel road, and it's nice and quiet. There are two units but we felt like we had plenty of privacy when outside, as well. We were within 2-3 miles of all the shops and restaurants we could need. While we didn't find it until our last day on Sanibel, it's also walking distance to a small wildlife park inside a campground, which is very easy to get into "the back way" by heading down Nerita Street and taking a right down what looks like a dead-end. Overall it was a great experience, we knew within the first few days of our visit that we wanted to book again for the following year.

My family stayed here for 2 months in January and February and it was great. Everything was as described and Chris was available and responsive if needed, but not imposing on our stay. It had all the furnishings we needed, functional bikes and beach toys, and a nice exercise room. The place is a duplex and we were concerned before our stay that we would have to share our vacation with someone we didn't know. However, the property is large and each side is separated enough (the two spaces don't even share living space walls) that it felt quite secluded. The location was great for our two small kids (2 and 5) as it has zero traffic and a big yard, our favorite restaurants were a short bike ride away, and a 5 minute bike ride around the corner to the beach. We were at the local beach everyday and the sea shells were amazing. We biked to Lighthouse for good fishing and once a week through Ding Darling. We didn't miss the snow and cold back home and hope to back someday!

If you are looking for the laid back beach stay, this is it. Everything you need for the Sanibel experience is here. Provided bicycles allowed more intimate exploration (and often more convenient than driving) since bike paths abound. Access to the beach is an easy walk away. A couple days of stormy weather was a bonus because the shelling was incredible after things calmed down. We used those weather days to go house shopping. The charcoal grill was a great way to vary our cuisine. Many spices, starter paper products, full kitchen, etc. made move-in easy. Our two most favorite aspects of this property were the total privacy with excellent vegetative cover, and best of all, how accommodating that Chris and Randy were. Would highly recommend!

We stayed at Chris and Randy’s “Shell Seeker Cottage” for the entire month of July 2017 and had a wonderful time. The unit was everything it was advertised to be and the Owners were extremely accommodating. We walked or rode bikes to the beach every day and took our 6 year old Golden Retriever along to play in the surf. The island has over 25 miles of paved bike trails, 2 golf courses and lots of public access points to sunny shell beaches. We have been visiting Sanibel and Captiva for decades and this cottage was by far the most enjoyable and relaxing place to stay. 5 STARS for everything!!!
